Emarginula (Tauschia) sexagenicostae was named by Fischer et al. (2002). Its type locality is Calcare Massiccio of Monte Cucco, which is in a Sinemurian shallow subtidal limestone/wackestone in the Calcare Massiccio Formation of Italy.
