Taxonomy
Leda vulgaris was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1913) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene; Panama.]. Its type specimen is ANSP (no number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nuculana vulgaris by Rosenberg (2005); it was recombined as Saccella vulgaris by Hendy et al. (2008).
