Taxonomy
Arca bonplandiana was named by d'Orbigny (1842). Its type specimen is MNHN A13944, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Potiarca bonplandiana by del Río (2000); it was recombined as Scapharca bonplandiana by Martínez and de Rio (2002); it was recombined as Anadara bonplandiana by Griffin and Nielsen (2008).
