Pecten centralis was named by Sowerby (1846). It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Mesopeplum centralis by Morra and Erdmann (1989); it was recombined as Chlamys centralis by Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999); it was recombined as Equichlamys centralis by Beu and Darragh (2001); it was recombined as Jorgechlamys centralis by Griffin and Nielsen (2008).
