Taxonomy
Exilia alanbeui was named by Nielsen (2005) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Chile.]. Its type specimen is SGO.PI 6371, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Punta El Fraile, which is in a Burdigalian coastal sandstone in the Ranquil Formation of Chile.
