Tellina rudis was named by Lamarck (1806) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Gari rudis by Burton (1933); it was recombined as Garum rude by Morellet and Morellet (1944); it was recombined as Gari (Garum) rudis by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
