Taxonomy
Sanguinolaria lamarckii was named by Deshayes (1824) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tellina lamarcki by Piccoli and Savazzi (1983); it was recombined as Tellina (Homalina) lamarckii by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
