Cardium granulosum was named by Lamarck (1805) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Parvicardium granulosum by Piccoli and Savazzi (1983); it was recombined as Plagiocardium granulosum by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
