Taxonomy
Cardium semiasperum was named by Deshayes (1858) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nemocardium semiasperum by Woodring (1982), Le Renard and Pacaud (1995) and Jeffery and Tracey (1997).
