Ophiacodon navajovicus

Taxonomy
Dimetrodon navajovicus was named by Case (1907). Its type specimen is AMNH 4777, a partial skeleton (postcrania), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Cobre Canyon (Cutler Formation), which is in a Virgilian fluvial siliciclastic in the Cutler Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Arribasaurus.

It was recombined as Arribasaurus navajovicus by Hay (1930); it was recombined as Ophiacodon navajovicus by Romer and Price (1940) and Reisz (1986).
