Allodaposuchus precedens

Taxonomy
Allodaposuchus precedens was named by Nopcsa (1928). Its type specimen is MAFI Ob 3131, a skull, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Site II, Pareu Niagului, Valióra, which is in a Maastrichtian lacustrine claystone/marl in the Densuş-Ciula Formation of Romania. It is the type species of Allodaposuchus.

Martin 2010Allodaposuchus is characterized by the following combination of characters: brevirostrine skull, external naris large and rostrodorsally oriented, ectopterygoid bordering the posterior toothrow, laterally open canalis quadratosquamosoexoccipitalis, participation of the nasals in the posterior portion of the external naris.
