Taxonomy
Lystrosaurus georgi was named by Kalandadze (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 3447/1, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Astashikha I, PIN 3447, which is in an Induan terrestrial claystone in the Vokhmian Formation of the Russian Federation.
