Mitra labratula was named by Lamarck (1803) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grignon (Lamarck collection), which is in a Lutetian open shallow subtidal sandstone/sandstone in France.
It was recombined as Mitreola labratula by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
