Taxonomy
Dimetrodon booneorum was named by Romer (1937). Its type specimen is MCZ 537, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Fulda, 19 (Belle Plains), which is in an Artinskian terrestrial claystone/limestone in the Petrolia Formation of Texas.
