Dimetrodon dollovianus
Taxonomy
Embolophorus dollovianus was named by Cope (1888) [type ist from "indian territory" (Case, 1907)]. Its type specimen is AMNH 4064, a partial skeleton (partial skull, fragments of vertebrae, sacrum and astragalus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Coffee Creek, 34 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Dimetrodon dollovianus by Case (1907), Case (1907), Hay (1930) and Reisz (1986).
