Taxonomy
Cytherea striatula was named by Deshayes (1825) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Meretrix striatula by Morellet and Morellet (1944); it was recombined as Tivelina striatula by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995); it was recombined as Venerella striatula by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
