It was assigned to Temnospondyli by Maddin et al. (2012); to Amphibamiformes by Schoch (2019); and to Amphibamidae by Schoch and Rubidge (2005), Anderson et al. (2008), Bourget and Anderson (2011), Schoch (2013), Schoch and Milner (2014) and Schoch et al. (2021).
