Rostellaria labrosa was named by Sowerby (1824) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Rimella labrosa by Cossmann and Pissarro (1911); it was recombined as Rimella fissurella labrosa by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
