Tiphis parisiensis was named by d'Orbigny (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Typhis (Typhis) parisiensis by Gertman (1969); it was recombined as Typhis parisiensis by Piccoli and Savazzi (1983); it was recombined as Typhis (Trubatsa) parisiensis by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
