Sinoeremoceras was named by Kobayashi (1933) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-l Cm Trep-u Sepkoski's reference number: 297].

It was assigned to Plectronoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964); to Protactinoceratidae by Crick (1981); and to Plectonocerida by Sepkoski (2002).
