Scala vatinae was named by de Boury (1912) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Crisposcala vatinae by Tracey et al (1995); it was recombined as Epitonium (Crisposcala) vatinae by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
