Taxonomy
Deltoidonautilus eliotti was named by Stenzel (1940) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain/]. Its type specimen is BEG 20901, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Angulithes eliotti by Kummel (1956) and Palmer and Brann (1965).
