Aturia (Brazaturia) brazoensis was named by Stenzel (1935) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is BEG 20908, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Aturia brazoensis by Miller and Downs (1950) and Palmer and Brann (1965).
