Taxonomy
Aesiocrinus nodosus was named by Webster and Lane (1967) [Holotype now at Los Angeles County Museum]. Its type specimen is UCLA 45865, a calyx, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Elassocrinus nodosus by Webster and Lane (2007).
