Loculicyathus racemiferus was named by Gravestock (1984) [? Loculicyathus racemiferus]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wilkawillina Gorge buildups 2, Flinders Ranges, which is in an Atdabanian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Wilkawillina Limestone Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Davidicyathus.
It was recombined as Davidicyathus racemiferus by Debrenne et al. (1990).
