Taxonomy
Nautilus libanoticus was named by Foord and Crick (1890) [DISTRIBUTION: Cretaceous.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sahil Alma (Lewis collection), which is in a Santonian carbonate lime mudstone in Lebanon.
It was recombined as Syrionautilus libanoticus by Kobayashi (1954) and Kummel (1956).
