Gigadiscina gigantissima

Taxonomy
Roemerella gigantissima was named by Cooper and Grant (1974). Its type specimen is USNM 151393a, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM703, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Gigadiscina gigantissima by Masunaga and Shiino (2021).
