Taxonomy
Acanthocrania densispina was named by Cooper and Grant (1974). Its type specimen is USNM 151434b, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM702c, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian slope/ramp reef limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.
