Taxonomy
Mikhnocyathus irregularis was named by Osadchaya and Kotelnikov (1998). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Tapsa River basin, Bolshoy Il'chir creek, Kameshki horizon, which is in an Atdabanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Il'chir Formation of the Russian Federation.
