It was assigned to Strophomenacea by Boucot (1960), Talent (1963) and Boucot and Johnson (1964); to Strophomenida by Isaacson et al. (1976) and Mitchell (1977); to Stropheodontoidea by Jin and Chatterton (1997); to Strophomenoidea by Williams et al. (2000); and to Plectambonitoidea by Congreve et al. (2015).
