Taxonomy
Palaeoneilo parenica was named by Biakov (1998). Its type specimen is RGU 3/1, a valve (Right valve mold), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Fedorovskii Creek, Outcrop 18, Bed 26a, Paren' River headwater, Smolensk Massif, which is in an Asselian marine siliciclastic in the Magiveem Formation of the Russian Federation.
