Yanheceras was named by Chen and Zou (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-u Sepkoski's reference number: 297].

It was synonymized subjectively with Eburoceras by Dzik (1984).

It was assigned to Yanheceratidae by Crick (1981) and Teichert (1988); and to Yanhecerida by Sepkoski (2002).
