Taxonomy
Hemiptychina desticata was named by Grant (1976). Its type specimen is USNM 213249, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM9270, Phangnga, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Rat Buri Formation of Thailand.
