Rhaetina lepton was named by Gemmellaro (1899).

It was recombined as Jisuina lepton by Stehli (1962); it was recombined as Heterelasmina lepton by Grunt and Dmitriev (1973); it was recombined as Mimaria lepton by Cooper and Grant (1976).
