Taxonomy
Medlicottia costellifera was named by Miller and Furnish (1940). Its type specimen is YPM 16810 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R.E. King 7, Clay Slide, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
