Taxonomy
Strigogoniatites kingi was named by Miller (1944) [Syntypes listed but no holotype designated]. Its type specimen is YPM 16252,16261 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is King 20, Beds 5,7, Cerro Wencelao to El Indio, Las Delicias, which is in a Capitanian marine shale/limestone in the La Difunta Formation of Mexico.
