Taxonomy
Derbyia deltauriculata was named by Hoover (1981). Its type specimen is USNM 220993, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Altamira House, Locality 10, Palo Quemado Trail, which is in a Kungurian offshore shelf wackestone/siltstone in the Palmarito Formation of Venezuela.
