Taxonomy
Chaoiella ustritskyi was named by Chen and Shi (2006). Its type specimen is Tohoku Univ IGPS108864 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Duwa section, DU2, Keziliqiman Formation, Tarim Basin, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Keziliqiman Formation of China.
