Clathricoscinus sanaschtykgolensis was named by Osadchaya et al. (1979). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Malaya Tes' River, Batenevskiy Ridge, unit 7, which is in a Botomian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Usa Formation of the Russian Federation.
