Taxonomy
Tornquistia magna was named by Archbold (1980). Its type specimen is CPC 19137, a shell (Internal mould of conjoined shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is BMR G279, Moogooree Homestead, which is in a Kungurian coastal shale in the Bulgadoo Formation of Australia.
