Taxonomy
Quinquenella borealis was named by Afanasyeva (1988). Its type specimen is PIN 2835/271, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Kharaulakh River, North Kharaulakh Range, which is in a Kungurian marine siliciclastic in the Tumara Formation of the Russian Federation.
