It was assigned to Pseudorthoceratidae by Frey (1995); to Orthocerida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Proteoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964), Crick (1981), Niko (2007), Kröger (2013), Kröger and Aubrechtova (2017) and Kröger and Aubrechtová (2019).
