Taxonomy
Worthenia pilula was named by Batten (1989). Its type specimen is AMNH 43665 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is AMNH512, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
