Taxonomy
Docoderma rigida was named by Finks (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 127659 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM703c, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian slope limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Docoderma.
