Taxonomy
Sallya striata was named by Yochelson (1956). Its type specimen is AMNH 27947:1. Its type locality is AMNH369, Shirttail Canyon, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Kungurian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bone Spring Formation of Texas.
