Taxonomy
Nautilus somaliensis was named by Newton (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; eastern Africa.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Deltoidonautilus somaliensis by Spath (1927), Stenzel (1940) and Haas and Miller (1952).
