Lissochonetes sinesulcus was named by Stehli (1954) [Lectotype selected by Cooper and Grant (1975)]. Its type specimen is AMNH 27293/1:1 and is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Leurosina sinesulca by Cooper and Grant (1975) and Mills and Langenheim (1987).
