Taxonomy
Septopora tarazi was named by Sakagami (1980). Its type specimen is DESC-80038 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abadeh, Collection D-16, Hambast Mountains, which is in a Wordian marine limestone in the Surmaq Formation of Iran.
