Isastrea austriaca was named by Frech (1890). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Gablonzeria austriaca by Liao and Xia (1994); it was recombined as Distichomeandra austriaca by Roniewicz (1989), Stanley (1994), Stanley (1994) and Caruthers and Stanley (2008).
