Taxonomy
Streblotrypa marmionensis was named by Etheridge (1926). Its type specimen is AM F17458 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mount Marmion, Balmaningarra Station (AMF collection), which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Noonkanbah Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Streblascopora marmionensis by Sakagami (1966), Wass (1967), Wass (1968), Gorjunova (1975) and Sakagami et al. (2006); it was recombined as Streblotrypa (Streblascopora) marmionensis by Morozova (1970), Termier and Termier (1971), Ernst et al. (2006), Ernst et al. (2008), Ernst et al. (2010), Ernst and Gorgij (2013) and Ernst (2016).
